FEMA 2025 LA Wildfire Continued Rental & Housing Assistance

Allows qualifying 2025 LA wildfire survivors who previously entered FEMA Individual Assistance to continue receiving eligible rental and other Individuals and Households Program assistance while disaster-related housing needs persist and program requirements are met. FEMA extended housing assistance for eligible 2025 Los Angeles wildfire survivors. Eligible homeowners may receive qualifying IHP housing assistance through July 9, 2027, and eligible renters through October 9, 2026, subject to continued FEMA eligibility and recertification requirements.

  • Survivor must first have received initial FEMA Rental Assistance.

Eligibility — Housing

  • Survivor must demonstrate an ongoing disaster-caused need for temporary housing assistance.
  • Survivor must establish and work toward a permanent housing plan.
  • Survivor must show that the initial Rental Assistance was used to pay for temporary housing.
  • Pre-disaster residence must remain unsafe to occupy or otherwise unavailable because of the disaster.
