- Provides free legal help for wildfire-related FEMA applications and appeals, tenant and homeowner issues, consumer matters, public benefits, family preparedness, and other civil legal problems for eligible clients.
Eligibility — Income
- LAFLA generally serves people with income below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines. In some cases, people with income below 200% FPG may also qualify. Other factors can affect eligibility and LAFLA makes the final determination.

- Applicant must have a civil legal issue within LAFLA's services, such as a wildfire-related FEMA application or appeal, housing/tenant or homeowner issue, insurance or consumer problem, public benefits matter, or other covered disaster-recovery legal issue
Eligibility — Residency
- Legal assistance is provided within LAFLA's Greater Los Angeles service jurisdiction. Use geography as a service-area match rather than an automatic current-residence denial because wildfire survivors may be displaced.
